About Sharon Miller (Sakura)

Sharon Miller, also known as Sakura, brings over 20 years of experience in education and youth development. Having spent much of her career teaching Key Stage 2 pupils in mainstream primary education, she developed a strong passion for nurturing young people and helping them realise their potential.

Following a career transition into social care, Sharon now serves as a Deputy Manager in Supported Accommodation, supporting young people aged 16–18 as they develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living. Her work includes supporting young people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

Alongside her professional career, Sharon is a storyteller, spoken word artist, poet, and emerging writer. Commissioned through Arts Council England’s Duppy Story Project, she has performed at venues including Birmingham Rep Theatre, the Legacy Centre of Excellence, Wolverhampton Central Library, and the Wolverhampton Literary Festival. Through both her professional and creative work, Sharon is passionate about inspiring others, amplifying diverse voices, and encouraging people to explore their creativity and achieve their aspirations.
